Start a DAPP During Court Proceedings

Many Respect-accredited programmes cannot accept self-referrals while private family court proceedings are ongoing.

The legal position was clarified in M v F [2024] EWFC 234 (B), which confirmed that non-Respect-accredited providers can deliver programmes that are recognised within private family proceedings.

Independent DAPP Services can accept referrals during active proceedings, allowing individuals to begin behaviour change work immediately rather than waiting until their case ends.  We will not, however, accept referrals where there is an ongoing criminal investigation relating to domestic abuse.

How it works

Starting the programme is straightforward and designed to ensure that it is appropriate for your circumstances before any longer-term commitment is made.

The process begins with a professional suitability assessment, followed by the full 16-week behaviour change programme for those who are accepted onto the course.

Step 1:  Assessment

The first step is a one-hour suitability assessment.

This session allows us to understand your circumstances, discuss any current family court proceedings, and determine whether the programme is appropriate for you.

It also provides an opportunity for you to ask questions and understand how the programme works before committing to the full course.

Assessment fee: £250

Step 2: 16 Week Programme

Once accepted onto the programme, you will begin weekly one-to-one sessions over 16 weeks.

Sessions focus on recognising harmful behaviour patterns, taking responsibility for actions, and developing safer communication and relationship strategies.

The programme is structured to support meaningful engagement and demonstrable behaviour change over time.

Programme investment: £2,950

Flexible payment plans are available.  We offer instalment plans of up to 6 months.  Receive a free assessment when you pay in full.
